Gallician

Gallician Church: between modesty and community roots
Name and religious vocation
The building known locally as the "Gallician Church" is in fact the Chapel of the Sacred Heart , located on Rue de la Cave Coopérative , near the Gallician cellar and the village arenas.
It depends on the parish of Vergèze , attached to the parish group of Vauvert–Vergèze in the Vaunage – Plaine maritime deanery , which attests to its active role in the local liturgical network.
Worship and pastoral life
This chapel serves well for worship, especially during community celebrations — such as the Christmas Pastoral , an annual live performance where a procession and mass take place to the church.
Territory and village life
Gallician is a hamlet of Vauvert (in Petite Camargue), marked by strong agricultural activity (AOC Costières-de-Nîmes viticulture, fishing, reeds), and by a way of life that is still traditional and united.
The church, visually humble, is one with this territory: a place of gathering, of rites, of culture - where parish life is concretely woven.
Important liturgical events
The Diocesan Jubilee March leaves from the church of Gallician to reach the abbey church of Saint-Gilles, with a solemn mass and procession: a strong time of faith, solidarity and territory.
